Development Platform

In the Quantum Software Engineering context, platform refers to the foundational environment on which software is built, run, and managed. It is a collection of hardware, operating systems, frameworks, and runtime services that provides a standardized environment for creating and executing applications (for example, Windows or Android platforms). In cloud computing, a platform often means a cloud-based environment (such as a Platform-as-a-Service offering) that supplies managed infrastructure plus integrated services for developing, deploying, and operating applications. Such platforms abstract away servers, networking, and much of the infrastructure management, letting developers focus on application logic while the platform handles scalability, reliability, and lifecycle operations.
