Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, Quantum Computing Team

The Quantum Computing Teams at the Fraunhofer IAO conduct application oriented research in quantum computing and develops practical solutions for industry and research. With a focus on algorithms, Quantum Computing as a Service software, and target group specific knowledge transfer formats, the team enables the use of quantum computers and systematically analyzes their potential for industry and society.

Research

  • Quantum Machine Learning: Synergistic development of quantum based methods for AI driven analytics
  • Quantum Error Correction: Research into error correction methods for the execution of robust quantum algorithms
  • Quantum Service Engineering & HPC: Implementation of Quantum as a Service pipelines and integration of quantum and high performance computing
  • Hybrid Computation: Software development for quantum inspired services with a focus on financial instruments
  • Quantum Business Models & Ecosystems: Roadmap development and orchestration, expansion of strategic partnerships, and business model analysis
  • Quantum Training & Outreach: Design and delivery of target group specific knowledge transfer formats
