The company serves commercial and institutional space programs and, as a leading manufacturer in its field, contributes to sustainably connecting the world and making it a better place for everyone.
Services
- Radio frequency and microwave solutions (TWTA, MPM, SSPA, active antennas)
- Optical and quantum solutions (scalable laser terminals, QKD payload (EAGLE‑1))
- Digital solutions (5G/6G solutions, routing and switching, TT&C)
- System solutions (subsystems, payloads, digital payloads, passive products)
- EEE parts agency (qualification and testing of EEE components)
Activities
EAGLE‑1 is Europe’s first satellite based end to end QKD system, funded by ESA and the EU, led by SES with TESAT and the DLR Institute for Communication and Navigation contributing to the development of the QKD payload.
QTRIP is a project with Friedrich-Alexander University, funded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Space Administration, which investigates and implements QKD transmitters, protocol managers, quantum random number generators, and receiver systems for the QKD module.
PoLiSiQ: Together with Fraunhofer HHI and other partners, TESAT investigates the suitability of photonic integrated circuits based on a hybrid LiNbO3/Si3N4 technology, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFTR), for example to miniaturize a QKD transmitter.
