HQS Quantum Simulations
Quantum for Industry – HQS Quantum Simulations turns quantum theory into practical tools and algorithms. We develop industrial software and tailored quantum algorithms that apply quantum mechanics to molecules and materials, with a focus on life sciences, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, we provide ready-to-use applications and open source tools that allow problem statements to be mapped onto quantum hardware and deliver reliable results beyond the capabilities of basic variational methods.
Research
- NMR analysis software: combines advanced quantum mechanics with powerful tools to enable precise and reproducible NMR analyses at scale.
- R&D and software services: development of customized algorithms and simulation workflows, integration of toolchains, and benchmarking of HPC-quantum systems.
- End-to-end quantum enablement: identification and validation of high-impact use cases, roadmaps and IP strategies, as well as the delivery of training and hands-on pilot projects and proof of concepts, to sustainably integrate quantum technology into your system landscape.
Activities
Active space automation for the industrial company Covestro AG in quantum chemistry. The open source software ASF accelerates orbital selection and simulation workflows.
Quantum-inspired NMR spectroscopy in collaboration with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt. Higher-precision and scalable spectral prediction for complex molecules through hybrid workflows.
MANIQU: Hybrid open system algorithms for NISQ material simulations. Spin Mapper + Noise App enable spin mappings and properties beyond the ground state.
Q‑Exa: HPC-quantum integration demonstrator with LRZ and IQM. The Noise App enables noise-analog open system simulations and researcher training on a 20-qubit platform.
