A major chall­enge in biore­ac­tor opera­tion is the accurate deter­mi­na­tion of biomass concen­tra­tion. To address this, Festo relies on a quantum techno­logy sensor develo­ped by the start-up Q.ANT. The sensor provi­des precise, real time infor­ma­tion on the growth of organisms. It is capable of optically analy­zing indivi­dual cells, enabling the exact deter­mi­na­tion of biomass concentration.
