We act as a middleware provider and enabler for the adoption of quantum computing (QC) in industry and research. Our differentiated “as a service” solutions enable users in both business and academia to explore, leverage, and capitalize on the potential of next generation computing technologies while driving their own digital transformation. Our goal is to develop concrete use cases together with end users and to incorporate the user perspective into technology development processes at an early stage. We serve as an intermediary between QPU providers and use case owners, aligning application requirements with the architectural design of quantum processing units. Our hardware agnostic approach ensures that the most suitable QC platform can be selected for each specific application. We support the development of quantum algorithms and the resource efficient validation of quantum jobs through our advanced simulation environments. To facilitate and broaden access to QC, we offer comprehensive consulting services, either independently or in combination with our proprietary Quantum Application Platform, QAPTIVA™. The platform includes our quantum emulator, an evolution of the Quantum Learning Machine originally developed by Atos in 2017, capable of emulating both quantum annealers and gate based quantum computers independently of the underlying QPU hardware technology. We are actively involved in publicly funded research projects, including Q_Exa, QSOlid, and TAQO-PAM.
Research
- Development and implementation of use cases by acting as an intermediary and translator between end user problem descriptions and the specific characteristics of quantum computing architectures.
- Comprehensive quantum computing enablement through simulation and validation. Development and testing of QC programs and applications, delivered either as a service or on premise.
- Integration of quantum computing methods and hardware with classical HPC environments, digital twin development, and simulation of noisy and noiseless QPUs.
Activities
Q‑Exa: Development of a superconducting 20-qubit QPU, with primary responsibility for the digital twin and the implementation of noise models.
QSolid: Development of a superconducting 30-qubit QPU. A central task is the integration of the QPU into the HPC environment of the computing center.
TAQO-PAM: Development and evaluation of quantum algorithms for optimizing industrial production and logistics processes. The main activity is the implementation of an automated processing chain for computing and assessing solution methods, the development of hybrid algorithms, and testing on use cases.
