DLR Quantum Compu­ting Initia­tive (DLR QCI) · Innova­tion Center Ulm

The DLR Quantum Compu­ting Initia­tive (DLR QCI) brings together research, indus­try, and start-ups to jointly develop quantum compu­ters, manufac­tu­ring techno­lo­gies, and relevant appli­ca­tion use cases. For this purpose, the DLR QCI provi­des high quality clean rooms, labora­to­ries, and office spaces at two innova­tion centers in Ulm and Hamburg to support a strong quantum compu­ting ecosystem.

  • 17 hardware projects for the develo­p­ment of quantum compu­ters based on diffe­rent techno­lo­gi­cal approa­ches: ion traps, neutral atoms, photons, solid-state spins, NV centers, and comple­men­tary approaches.
  • 25 DLR projects and 40 indus­try projects for the practi­cal develo­p­ment of relevant use cases for quantum computers.
